Cre8audio NiftyCASE Bag and PatchSaver
Not great value but probably the best option available. Buy it if you really want the Bag, rather than to get the PatchSaver cover.
I bought this to help protect the modules in my NiftyCase. I've got a few different Eurorack cases but the NiftyCase is great for small setups, as I like how it handles MIDI to CV. With about £700 work of modules, I really wanted Decksaver to produce an official cover but it's unlikely to ever happen, so this is probably the best way to go.
It seemed a bit pricey, but still a bit cheaper than buying directly from Cre8audio and dealing with the import tax.
I primarily bought it for the PatchSaver cover but thought the Bag/case would sometimes come in handy. When it arrived the quality of the cover was disappointing, as it has a very cheap and flimsy feel but the case was much nicer than expected.
The PatchSaver cover is nothing like the high standard of Decksaver covers. It's more like lightweight packaging material that you'd recycle after one use. It does the job it's designed for and could probably protect the unit from something like a book landing on it but could probably be pierced by a sharp object. I think you could even cut it with a strong pair of scissors. It fits tightly over a NiftyCase, which some will prefer but I'd have gone for a looser feel.
It does allow for cabling but I would have liked recess gap at the back to allow some cables to hang down. At least I could easily cut one if I wanted to. Despite these shortcomings it looks pretty good when installed on the unit, just feels a bit thin and cheap when you hold it.
The Bag/case is much better. It's a decent nylon material with decent zips and the Cre8audio logo looks pretty good. The pocket at the front can easily store the PSU and some cables. The main compartment is a good fit for the NiftyCase with the PatchSaver cover on. The handles are better quality than they appear in the photos and can be secured together with the velcro fastenings.
I think the Patchsaver cover is worth 2-Stars and about £10 max. The Bag is worth 4-Stars, and similar to cases in the £25-£30 bracket. So it's up to you whether you're prepared to pay the extra cost of getting one.
I'm happy to keep mine but only because there isn't a better alternative.
