Algemeen
Microfoons uit de eerste helft van de vorige eeuw zijn nog altijd zeer gewild vanwege hun 'magische' klank. Matt McGlynn, de oprichter van Roswell Pro Audio, weet echter dat het niets met magie te maken heeft. De Roswell Mini K47 grootmembraan condensatormicrofoon heeft de warme, gedetailleerde klank van een van de beroemdste condensatormicrofoons aller tijden, maar dan zonder de ruis, vervorming en onderhoudskosten die vaak gepaard gaan met vintage microfoons. In tegenstelling tot het origineel heeft de Mini K47 geen buizen en is de output elektronisch gebalanceerd in plaats van met een transformator. Dit zorgt voor een groter dynamisch bereik en minder vervorming. De Mini K47 bespaart je enorm veel gekunstel met de-essers en eq's want er is werkelijk geen spoortje scherpheid te bekennen in de hogere mid frequenties; een verademing bij bijvoorbeeld drums en piano. Deze stereoset wordt met de hand gematcht in het Roswell hoofdkwartier in Californië.
