Algemeen
De Neumann TLM 103 is een grootmembraan condensatormicrofoon die je in menig studio tegenkomt. Dit komt omdat de microfoon uiterst veelzijdig in te zetten is en een geweldige klank heeft. Zijn capsule is afgeleid van de U 87, heeft een cardioïde opnamepatroon en kan een geluidsdruk aan tot wel 138 dB. Elk detail wordt prachtig geregistreerd, van fluisterzachte stemmen tot luide gitaren en percussie. Deze Neumann TLM 103 Studio Set bevat naast de grootmembraan condensatormicrofoon een hoogwaardige EA1 shockmount. Beide hebben een fraaie nikkelen afwerking.
De Neumann TLM 103 microfoon
De capsule van de Neumann heeft een redelijk vlakke frequentierespons die loopt van 20 tot 20.000 Hertz. Vanaf 5 kHz krijgt hij een lichte boost, waardoor de opnames perfect door je mix zullen snijden en vocalen uiterst verstaanbaar zijn. Echter blijft het hoog mooi rustig in tegenstelling tot de vele imitaties. De capsule heeft een grote head grill voor de onderdrukking van constructiegeluid. Daarnaast is een pop-scherm geïntegreerd in het rooster dient om eventuele pop- en windgeluiden te onderdrukken bij zang- en spraakopnames.
De Neumann EA1 shockmount
De TLM 103 Studio set wordt geleverd inclusief een EA1 shockmount. Deze zorgt ervoor dat de TLM 103 vrij komt te hangen van de standaard. Hierdoor worden ongewenste bijgeluiden als gevolg van trillingen niet geregistreerd en geniet je van een schone opname.

Really happy with this mic. I bought it as a mic for life - for an amateur musician it is expensive but the internet is pretty much unanimous that for that money you're not going to find a more dependable, versatile mic. It's stood the test of a couple of decades of use and is still raved about by a wide range of top musicians and producers. I upgraded from the Rode NT1a to this and the sense of clarity is great. It feels good singing into something that sounds like this and if you feel good you'll make your best recordings.

If you want that U87 sound but don't need different polar patterns, pad or LF cut then, in my opinion, this is the mic to get.
It's a Neumann so obviously it sounds great and is built like a tank. If you're a wealthy producer who can afford lots of microphones and can pick and choose depending on the sound of your performer's voice then, fine, there are lots of great mics out there. If, like me, you can only afford one really good mic, this does the job very, very well.

j'ai depuis longtemps recherché un micro neutre pour voix féminines et après avoir fait le tour de pas mal de statiques j'ai opté pour ce micro. il a vraiment un plus sur les voyelles et les sssss sur certains mots. on dirait qu'il efface partiellement tout ça... qu'il "soft" les défaut. il a aussi une profondeur incroyable et une superbe définition. donc autant pour les voix masculines que féminines c'est vraiment un très bon choix. c'est une valeur sure.
