De CE4412 Celebrity Elite Mid Depth maakt deel uit van The Celebrity Collection van Ovation. Zoek je een eigentijds ogende en spelende 12-snarige elektrisch-akoestische westerngitaar, die zich uitstekend leent voor podiumgebruik? Dan ben je bij deze CE44 met zijn Mid Depth bodydiepte en 12 snaren aan het goede adres. Ook deze Ovation Celebrity Elite is voorzien van die speciale Roundback achterkant van donker kunststof. Dit zorgt voor een robuuste, krachtige constructie, een solide, heldere 12-string sound en een prettig lage gevoeligheid voor feedback. Ook is de gitaar voorzien van een solid top van sitka sparren houten, heeft hij dat karakteristieke multi-sound hole design en is ook nog eens bijzonder prettig geprijsd.

CE4412: transparant hoog, extra gefocust laag en een duidelijk uitversterkte weergave

Het massieve bovenblad van de CE4412 zorgt voor een vol, rijk én doorklinkend akoestisch gitaargeluid. Daarnaast zorgen de diverse klankgaten van verschillende afmetingen voor een transparanter hoog, een extra gefocust laag en een betere akoestische weergave voor jou als de bespeler. Het strakke, volle basisgeluid wordt sterk en duidelijk uitversterkt via het ingebouwde CP-100 piëzo-element en de OP-4CT voorversterker. Naast dat je het volume kun inregelen, heeft deze Ovation Celebrity Elite een 3-bands equalizer voor het vormen van versterkte sound en een stemapparaat waarmee je deze CE44 altijd goed gestemd kunt houden. De 10 inch ovangkol toets en de zijdeglans mahonie hals spelen soepel weg tot maar liefst de 23e fret bij de hoge E-snaren.

Ik heb deze gitaar als B-stock gekocht maar aangezien er alleen wat schade aan de doos was is ie eigenlijk helemaal nieuw. Het geluid is erg mooi en de gitaar speelt bijna net zo makkelijk als een 6 snarige. Ook over een versterker klinkt ie gewoon goed. Al met al dus zeer tevreden.

I love 12 strings but unfortunately not all 12 strings love me. Having small hands don't help at all. I have tried many over the years and the only one I can really get on with is my Rickenbacker 330/12. I did have a 12 saddle bridge and a narrow spaced nut fitted to it and it is really just as easy as a 6 string to play.
As for acoustic 12s, I have tried many. I have a Ovation 6 string which is lovely to play so I thought I would take a chance on this gorgeous looking 12. I have to say out of the box it was brilliant. No setting up required, just tuning with the inbuilt kit, great. How does it play? Amazingly well. It really is a cracker of a guitar for the price tag, Chinese or not (it may have a chip in it that reports my playing back to Bejiing) it is simply great to play.
Unplugged it has that lovely Ovation tone, plugged in is just as good too. The finish is super, I just adore the colour.
Great to do the biz with Bax Music too, so easy to order and the price (going for a song) undercut everyone else.
Highly recommended.

A very playable, pleasant sounding 12 string, straight from the box, and with excellent electronics. Also very good note separation from each of the strings and the mid-depth bowl is a lot easier to handle than the deep-bowl body that's on my Ovation Custom Legend - but in fact, it's surprising how quickly you get used to it and Ovations have a feel and sound all of their own.
