Algemeen
De Gainlab Audio GLA-TC1 The Dictator is een echte buizen compressor. Dat wil zeggen dat de buizen ook echt gebruikt worden in het compressor circuit. Net als legendarische variable-mu compressors zoals de Fairchild 660 en de Gates STA-Level geeft The Dictator je tracks meer samenhang, ook wel 'glue' en krijgt het geheel meer 'gewicht' doordat de compressor meedeint op de grove van de muziek. De GLA-TC1 is een stereo compressor dus je bedient beide kanalen met skechts één set controls. Dit Innox KB Fold keyboard statief super snel want je hoeft niet steeds het linker en rechter kanaal te matchen. Zo uit de doos zijn de kanalen gelinkt zodat de gain reductie op beide kanalen wordt toegepast als één van de kanalen de threshold overschrijdt. Dit zorgt voor een heel stabiel stereobeeld. Als je wilt kun je ze ook 'unlinken' voor een breder stereobeeld met meer beweging. Al met al is The Dictator een prachtige compressor met een hele 'dure' sound die echt een plek verdient op je master bus.
