Clavia Nord Stage 3 Compact stage piano
I should probably start this review by stating that the Nord Stage 3 is a great tool for those that need it. But actually it is such a flexible tool that I doubt many would be disappointed by it.
I recently wrote a quite skeptical review about the Nord Electro 6D, and honestly since I upgraded to the Nord Stage 3 I know I was right.
Not only does the Nord Stage 3 offer great pianos and organs, but also a very good sounding synth (Easy for "real time" tweaking... less so for sound designers...).
What makes it a very compelling proposition is how everything is organized to let the music flow. It is truly an instrument that inspires to explore new territories without much preparation. It is very easy and rewarding to spend hours simply enjoying the music and letting the inspiration guide you.
It all boils down to how flexible the layers, the effects, the assignation of external controllers (pedals etc...), the morphing, the hold function are. In that regards the Electro 6D IS nice but somewhat limited, the Stage is really in another league!
