Gretsch Professional Collection Tennessean Hollow Body RW Havana Burst met G6241 Deluxe Hardshell Case
I was very lucky to purchase this guitar when it was in the sale plus with the extra 11% discount I saved a huge chunk off the RRP.
The 30 day no quibble returns policy meant that I had peace of mind in that I could return the guitar free of charge, had I not liked or got on with it, however…
The guitar itself is stunning, the sunburst on my guitar is darker and not as orange as in the stock photographs.
Before buying the guitar I wasn’t too sure about the gold pickup rings and pick guard (when the main hardware is chrome) thinking I might swap them out for silver ones but in the flesh, and with the darker sunburst the gold actually works rather well.
I was looking for a Gretsch after regretting selling a previous one (a G6118T-LTV 125th Anniversary) just after lockdown - I love the Gretsch sound and the Annie had it in spades, this guitar had a lot to live up to! I wasn’t disappointed, the new PRO-FT filtertron pickups give me the sound I was hoping for. As with the Annie, I find it an easy guitar to play (although I will get the action lowered slightly at some point), the fingerboard is different being rosewood and bound, the Annie had an ebony fingerboard which I think I preferred, but it’s not enough to put me off.
The build quality is second to none as it is with all of the Pro Series Gretsch models.
I’m over the moon with this guitar and look forward to putting it through its paces in the near future!
