Zoek je dat alom bekende uiterlijk en geluid van die elektrisch-akoestische Ovation Roundback gitaren, maar toch nog iets luxere looks en extra speelcomfort? Dan is hier deze CE48 Exotic uit de The Celebrity Collection. De ronde achterkant is eveneens van dat voor het merk vertrouwde kunststof-composiet dat de naam Lyrachord draagt, maar is een stuk minder bol waardoor hij vooral staand op het podium met een gitaarband om nog prettiger wegspeelt. Bovendien zorgt deze achterzijde voor evenwichtige bassen met meer focus en crystalheldere trebles. Voor een extra chique look heeft deze CE48 een bovenblad van gewolkt esdoorn meegekregen en onder meer nog abalone positiestippen.

CE48 Exotic: multi-sound hole design en een duidelijke, veelzijdig versterkte sound

Zoals je vast al hebt gezien, heeft deze Ovation westerngitaar niet het klassieke klankgat in het midden. In de fraaie houten epauletten aan de beide kanten van de upper bout zitten meerdere kleinere klankgaten van verschillende afmetingen. Dit speciale multi-sound hole ontwerp zorgt ervoor dat alle noten los duidelijk naar voren komen. Ook wordt feedback tot een minimum beperkt door de algehele constructie van deze Exotic uitvoering van de CE48. Via een piëzo pickup onder het brugzadel en de OP-4CT voorversterker met 3-bands equalizer, heb je de beschikking over een duidelijke, veelzijdig versterkte sound. De mahonie hals met z'n 10 inch toets en de kortere 25.3 mensuur zorgen voor bijkomend speelgemak.

I recently purchased the Ovation CE44-5 Celebrity Elite Mid Depth Black Electro-Acoustic and although it looks great, I found the body too deep for me to play comfortably.
So, back it went to Bax Music, and I ordered the Ovation CE48P-RG Celebrity Exotic Super Shallow Regal to Natural Electro-Acoustic Guitar instead. I'm so glad I did! It feels much more comfortable to play, and I think it looks even better too.
Sometimes the right instrument isn't just about how it sounds—it's about how it feels in your hands.

I placed the order on 14/02/24 and paid an extra £10 for express delivery. Due 17/02. BAX-SHOP stated standard free delivery would be 19/02.
Much to my dismay, frustration, inconvenience and anger at paying an extra tenner, The guitar arrived on 20/02. This was the royal mails fault. My main moan here is I emailed Bax customer services twice, to see if I could be refundedTo which I have not received any reply. To test the email box was monitored I emailed again using a different email asking a general question. I had a lovely informative reply from them, proving it is monitored and my other emails of complaint were being ignored.
The instrument is very nice, great finish and tone for slim body, not plugged in yet. The neck is smooth and plays like an electric, however I may drop the action a tad. It’s a good solid nice guitar the blue finish looks nice in my collection, I would recommend the guitar, but sadly not BAX, seems they only communicate when it’s good for them.
Shame that
